Squirrel beside a critter guard installed under a solar array

Critter guard installation

Close the gap. Keep the wiring.

Squirrels and birds treat the space under an array like a loft. Mesh is cheaper than a string replacement, and quieter than a nest at 2 a.m.

Black mesh critter guard fastened along the edge of solar panels

What’s included

  • Stainless steel mesh cut to the array
  • Fastened to racking, not glued to shingles
  • Corner and chase closures where animals get in
  • Lifetime warranty with a recurring cleaning maintenance plan

What it is

A metal skirt that closes the gap under the array.

A critter guard is stainless mesh fastened to the racking along the open edge of the panels. It blocks the space squirrels and birds use as a loft. It is not glued to the shingles, and it does not cover the glass.

  • They stop nesting under the panels

Once that gap is open, squirrels and birds move in. The mesh keeps them out.

  • Wiring stays intact

Nests come with chewing. A chewed conductor means a string replacement, which costs more than the guard.

  • The roof stays quiet

No scratching, no nest at 2 a.m., and no animals trapped against the modules.
